Law Enforcement/Public Safety Amateur Radio Club

Description

We are a law enforcement/public safety amateur radio group in the NY city area with repeaters on 146.745 with a PL of 141.3 NB2A/R, 445.175 NB2A/R,linked to 224.460 N2XBA/R.

We are an ARRL affiliated club as well.

The system is completely powered with emergency backup as well.

We are very grateful for the efforts by PMC Associates and Vertex for helping us get back on the air after losing all our equipment at the World Trade Center on 9/11/01.

As of 11/05 our 1.2 antenna is up in Manhattan the associated equipment should be on soon as well. Check our growing LINKS and PHOTOS pages and add one if you like.If you know of a Public Safety Ham Radio Club with a webpage please add it on the links page.
Send the group or myself NB2A an email to let me know you are interested in joining and what if anything you can contribute that the group will benefit from. You also must be a licensed ham too and provide a call sign when asking to join. It helps keep out the SPAM that takes place.

The repeaters use echolink node 58497 up 24 hours with weather alerts and forecasts as well. It is simultaneously running 2 meters all the way up to 10 meters with one radio! Our linked coverage area via RF alone is throughout 5 boros, New Jersey and Long island. All support is welcome and access is open. This also includes suggestions that you may have to improve the system as well as listening to the various inputs for any malicious interference and note your results. The system is quite large and it can at times invite such interference to take place unfortunately.

The Yahoo group forum is here for all users of the entire system to convey their thoughts. It also has a LINK page as well as a PHOTOS page that all members are asked to add to. Please take the time to briefly introduce yourself to the group upon joining. UNLESS YOU PROVIDE A CALL SIGN YOU WILL NOT BE APPROVED TO JOIN THE GROUP! Enjoy the site and the system. 73s NB2A
